Our Pitch to You
Do you want to learn about a wide variety of businesses by speaking one-on-one with successful business owners? As a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate, you will guide owners through part of the process of selling their business and prepare pitch materials. If you don’t have experience doing that, we will teach you what you need to know. You will learn a LOT and gain great experience for your resume.
The Work
- Prepare documents presenting information on businesses for sale in a positive light.
- Call business owners who expressed interest in selling their business and take them through an initial valuation and interview process while on the phone.
- Call M&A intermediaries to see if they would be willing to refer buyers to businesses we have for sale.
- Call large companies that are prospective buyers to see whether they might have an interest in buying a business we are selling.
- Conduct research on potential acquirers of a business.
Necessary Qualifications
- General understanding of business
- Basic knowledge of accounting
- 5 years of experience working for a business with more than 10 employees
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Experience with Excel
- Comfort with calling people with whom you have no prior communication (not for sales)
- Ability to think on your feet
- An accent that is easy to understand to someone in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing marketing materials, pitch decks, or information memoranda on businesses for sale
- Experience with cold calling (note that you will NOT be cold calling for the purpose of generating sales)
- Sales experience (note that you will not be doing any sales work)
Job Parameters
- This is long-term work.
- You will be paid hourly.
- Work will be project-based and projects will last several days.
- 20-40 hours of work per week will be available.
- You need to be available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm New York time.
- You need to be available to make a phone call immediately after receiving an email during those hours.
- You will only be paid for the time when you work, not for time when you are available to work.
- You will be given a monthly performance bonus based your results for the month.
