We have lists of people who have unknowingly become victims of the growing "Tech Support Scam". In this scam, scammers place error messages on victim's computer screens and ask them to call in to a fake "tech support" hotline. Once the victim calls in, the scammer attempts to access their computer and plant viruses on it or even try steal the person's identity. They then try to charge the victim hundreds or thousands of dollars to "repair" the issues they created on the user's computer.
We have created TechSupportScam.com to help inform victims of this scam about 3 steps they need to take to ensure that they are safe and their identity is not stolen by these scammers.
