Agent to outbound businesses using a call list. Objective is to set an appointment for the business owner to have their 401k retirement plan reviewed. The review is free and usually results in the owner discovering other options that have much lower costs and better performing investment options. A script and training is provided. Oftentimes the business owner needs to be called multiple times and so follow up by the agent is recommended to maximize the best results. The best agents will be friendly and well spoken and have great sales skills, although they are not selling anything but simply setting an appointment. The appointment consists of a Certified Financial Planner reviewing the 401k plan of the business and providing a free detailed analysis of how the plan can be improved. The Department of Labor requires consistent review of plans and our review satisfies that requirement. Also, typically we are able to save about 1% on each plan which amounts to approximately $10,000 savings per year for the plan participants. We also provide the best investment options in their plan and free employee education. The review is done via phone mostly as the hiring company is located in the US Virgin Islands and the businesses are stateside (in the 48 US states). Average results would be about 1% of calls made so for example, if 100 calls are made, one appointment is likely to be set (although follow up may be needed). Agent should be able to make 100 calls per day in about an 8 hour shift and starting pay is $80 for each appointment set. This can be adjusted higher after favorable results are seen as this is the first time the company is using outbound telemarketers and we prefer to see results before committing too much money. I am testing this method and as long as I obtain business from it I will continue job indefinitely to grow our business and add more agents as time allows.
