Sales representative position in a moving company
It is often said that sales are the life blood of any business. This is true due to the fact that all businesses need a positive cash flow in order to legitimately exist. The only way to get a positive cash flow is to make sure that whatever your business is offering is being accepted by the general public. This is done through sales. It is therefore not surprising to see that serious businesses always pay a lot of emphasis on the sales and marketing department. This will also apply to a moving company.
A moving company needs to make sure that all the sales representatives for the business are chosen in a very careful manner. A failure to do this will be giving the upper hand to many competitors in the moving industry. In the end, you will fail to retain market share and as a result you will have to close your doors. This is not a good thing, and it is why you will be extra careful when recruiting.
The following are some of the duties that a sales representative will be in charge of in a moving business:
1) Meeting customers’ needs by booking or reserving time slots for them with the moving company. This is so as to make sure that the staff will be free to help the client move at the given time of their choosing.
2) Maintain business relationships with clients who already have accounts with the company. The art of making a moving company popular lies in making personal ties and creating bonds with clients. This is the work of the sales representative. They will have to regularly call past and present clients to find out how everything is going and how they are handling the new environment. When these clients require moving services again, they will only as for your company.
3) It is also the duty of the sales representative to establish new accounts of the business. This is a key growth factor in any moving company. It is not possible to increase the bottom line if the business is not acquiring new clients. The sales representative will be responsible for initiating contact with potential clients who might be loyal to another company.
In order to be able to fulfill all these roles, a sales representative should possess the following qualities:
1) Confidence and high level of self esteem
All sales representatives should be very confident and sure of their inner selves. This is the only way that they will be able to convince potential clients to use the moving company when changing houses. It is also good for the brand of the company to have a sales representative who is not afraid of speaking up for the business. Having a sales representative who does not have the strength to approach strangers and instantly connect with them is not going to help the business at all.
2) Good grooming habits
It is also important to have a sales representative who has good grooming skills and is also very polite and sociable. These are traits that will go a long way in convincing potential clients to use the moving company that they are using.
