This is my first campaign on Outbounders so I have set this as less than one week and for 3 outbounders. If this is successful, then I will be ramping up these efforts and anticipate 20-30 hours of calling each week.
The purpose of this campaign is to set 15-minute Discovery Calls with decision makers with small business in the home contractor space. This includes plumbers, electricians, landscapers, home remodeling, roofers, etc.
Many of these businesses have websites or Facebook pages, but they are not actually getting any new customers from them.
There are two components to the website: (1)they need website visits from people looking for their services, and (2)their website needs to convert the visitors into requests for a proposal.
Many of these small businesses have websites that are over 4 years old and the websites do not look professional. We talk a lot about the website being your first impression of your business. And how you need a website that grabs a visitors attention and makes them want to get a proposal.
For companies that have a modern website design, many of them are not on the first page of Google and so they are not getting any visitors to their website. They are just using their website as an online business card to send people there that already know they exist.
And lastly we use Facebook to drive word-of-mouth referrals. Most businesses have a Facebook page but they are not generating any business from it because they don't understand how Facebook works. We can actually target their ads to homeowners in specific zip codes. Home contractors need to gain the trust of their prospects, and using before and after photos and getting recommendations from their friends are a great way to build that trust with prospective customers.
Some of the questions we ask to get someone to schedule a Discovery Call with us is:
"Do you track how many new customers you get each month from your website?"
"Do you know how many new customers you get each month from Facebook?"
We need to re-iterate that these Discovery Calls are only 15 minutes long because our marketing experts are only trying to understand your situation so we can bring solutions to the table for our second meeting. Their schedule fills up so they have a hard stop at 15 minutes.
Sometimes people will ask for you to send more information. We tell them that we really need a Discovery Call to understand their needs. We regularly host webinars, we have a video series, we have literature so we can't just send it all to you or it would be too much. There is no "one size fits all" approach to online marketing. Just like they could not give a proposal on their services without first understanding what their customer needed done, we also need to better understand their situation to provide them with more information.
We schedule all Discovery Calls for 15 or 45 minutes past the hour.
